2026 Regular Session Summary is ready for all to review*

Quick Highlights Include:

• The jury anchor bill is dead (SB 413)
• The “porch pirate” bill limiting negligence claims by plaintiffs injured during their wrongful conduct is enacted. It was amended, and it is slightly better than the original version of the bill (SB 462)
• The child placement agency immunity bill passed. It will sunset on July 1, 2029.(HB 2521)
• The municipalities/limitations on contingency fee contracts for legal services is enacted. It will sunset on July 1, 2031. (HB 2593)
• The pesticide bill – part of a nationwide campaign in multiple states, led by pesticide manufacturers – is dead. (HB 2476)
