KTLA offers recurring CLE programs on topics specific to plaintiffs’ trial practice in a variety of formats. If you have an idea for CLE or would like to be a presenter, please contact KTLA at info@ktla.org. For upcoming CLE topics and dates, search here.

Annual Meeting and CLE Seminar

KTLA’s premier event takes place over three days in early December in Kansas City. The Annual Meeting program includes the CLE hours required for Kansas attorneys’ annual licensing: 12 total CLE hours, including 2 ethics and professionalism hours. The Annual Meeting presenters are highly regarded trial attorneys from around the state and the country, and the program is often touted as the best in the region.

“You will get information that will help you succeed in your practice. You will walk away with at least one idea that is worth much more than the price of the seminar.”

Trial Academy

The Trial Academy brings together a prestigious faculty panel with practicing attorneys wanting to advance or refresh their trial skills. Each academy focuses on a particular trial aspect and gives participants practical experience workshopping in a courtroom setting with immediate feedback. The Trial Academy is for trial lawyers of all experience levels: new attorneys, attorneys who want a jury trial refresher, or those who want to improve upon their litigation skills.

“Best value available for trial instruction.”

Trial Tomes

Trial Tomes combines the interaction of a book club with the practical takeaways of a CLE. Members read and gather by webinar over several sessions to discuss books relevant to trial practice. Moderators guide the discussions to hit key points from the books.

“The group was active in providing input and there was a lot of practical discussion on application of the book’s principles.”

Trial Run

The Trial Run program gives members the opportunity to workshop their own cases before appearing in court. Members bring their cases to run through a particular trial aspect (opening statement, voir dire, etc.) in a small group, webinar setting for feedback and suggestions from peers.

“Practical experience in presenting on one of my actual cases and learning from other veterans were extremely helpful to me.”
