Jakob J. Provo of DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers in Wichita, authored the lead article of the February 2026 Journal of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association: "The Price Tag Fallacy: Why Medical Bills Do Not Measure Human Loss". The article reasons that "the law and the logic align on a single, decisive principle: justice is found in the evidence of the human loss, not in the administrative cost of the repair".

“In the last two and a half years, we’ve taken seven cases to trial. Some have gone better than others, and we haven’t always gotten the result we hoped for.
